Since "upgrading" (such as it is) to Lucid Lynx, TB is messed up.

It doesn't seem to want to go "online" as it used to, I have to shut it
down and reopen and then it is online until I download messages - by
going offline and download/sync now.

It appears to download and sync, but when I go to open messages offline,
it looks like every other message has been saved. I think this is in
time order as well. Very strange?

It's pissing me off beyond belief! Some file must be corrupt somewhere,
so can I delete/fix some file in order to correct this without losing
current posts and settings?

I tried reinstalling, but that did no good.

Even tried Seamonkey, but it is too close a relative to TB and just
inherited all the bad genes and performed the same as this friggin' TB!

To avoid all this I even installed Pan but found it had messages from
almost a year ago! Wtf! I uninstalled that, so why should it reinstall
with all the old info on it?!

Windows has its advantages and right now I wish I was in Windows.

Please help, I don't want to have to reinstall an entire OS just to fix
this.

Your biggest problem now is that you're still expecting things to work
like they do in Windows-world. This way there be monsters!

Try this next...

* Step 1 = Back up your $HOME/.mozilla dir !!!

* Step 2 = Nuke the original $HOME/.mozilla dir.

* Step 3 = Fire up TB\FF\SM\whatever and check for SNAFUs.

Then post up with whatever happened, and if you experiment, keep notes
and post those up too.

BTW#1, if you installed Pan and /didn't/ expect it to get /everything/ on
the NG servers on first run, you need to RTFM and GAFC! Ok? ;)

BTW#2, Windows has no advantage over Linux. Thats just M$ propaganda.

BTW#3, All "I couldn't go back to Windows" folks have been where you are
right now, and will tell you that your problem isn't the software, its
how you've been trained by M$ to /expect/ things to work. Because of
this, you /will/ blunder about, making a mess of things, until you learn
to move on and enjoy what you /can/ do with "What do YOU want to do
today?" software, over "What do /we/ want you to do today?" Barbieware.

Stick with it. Expect to screw it up a few times before you "get it", and
DON'T PANIC!
